NAKED CHORIZO..SEMI-HEALTHY FOOD TRUCK EATS

I feel like I'm becoming a regular at the SOMA StreatFood Park, sadly since the trucks rotate on a regular basis I haven't had the chance to establish a relationship with one truck like you do with a bartender so they can slip you a little extra booze, or in this case, meat on your sandwich. But then again, the good thing about rotating trucks is the chance to be able to try something new each time I go. This particular day me and the SO picked the same truck for a change--Naked Chorizo--a Spanish/Filipino food truck mix.

And oddly enough, we both felt like eating semi-healthy, thus we zeroed in on the chicken insala.

On first look it is nicely presented. A mixed greens salad--arugula, radicchio, romaine, etc.--with grilled chicken, fried crispy skin, a mango salsa and slightly sweet Asian citrus vinaigrette dressing. The chicken was tender, juicy and had a mild lemon grass flavor infused in it. I liked that they put a piece of deep fried crispy chicken skin on top, it helps add some texture to the dish. The mango salsa was sweet and spicy and a pleasant accompaniment to the chicken and greens. The dressing was okay but was a bit too much sweet when you add in the the salsa, so I used is sparingly. It didn't need much anyway as the chicken was warm and the salsa really adds enough liquid to keep things from being dry. All in all a decent, healthy alternative selection to the usual array of burgers, rice dishes and sandwiches that sometimes abound with food trucks.

I know I've said it before, but everyone should really try to stop by SOMA StreatFood Park and partake of the food and the casual laid back atmosphere, it's a perfect fit to San Francisco.
